25 July Final Lock of the Holiday

What a cracking day today with wall to wall sunshine and blue skies.

After a bit of exploring in Evesham town (Ian and I visited the Almonry Museum which had some interesting exhibits of years gone by), we headed off towards Pershore.

Herons in abundance today. And quite a few kingfisher sightings.

Ian managed to lose his hat in a strong gust of wind. So we had to practice our retrieval skills using the boat hook!

One of our last locks of the holiday is an unusual diamond shaped one.

As our boat is so big we had to tie up across it - we couldn't fit flat alongside.

We managed to squeeze into a space alongside in Pershore so we could go and have a look around town. The Abbey was pretty impressive - it's actually 2 buildings in this picture. Abbey on the left and a church on the right.

After our Pershore visit our final and 171st lock of the fortnight was Pershore lock. We then decided to moor overnight at the marina so we're all ready to return the boat first thing in the morning.

We had a late evening visitor - an Old Lady moth (according to my ObsIdentify app). It was huge!
