It's only been over the last few weeks, as the area has become much quieter, with less people and traffic, that the population of seagulls has noticeably increased. Previously we weren't having to stay on guard to prevent seagulls whipping in for a breakfast snack or a spot of light lunch! We also enjoyed the far pleasanter noise of the parrots as they swoop about. Definitely not the lovely bird called we experienced whilst in New Zealand and Australia earlier this year.
It hasn't just been loud seagulls today...
We decided to cycle to Lidl to get a few things to top up supplies and were just putting our things ready to go through the checkout when there was a loud of shouting. A very tall, muscular bloke, with face piercings and tattoos, probably in his 40s was following and yelling at a scrawny, dishevelled, elderly man clutching a couple of cartons of milk. Now my Spanish isn't very good but we got the jist that this younger man was definitely not happy with the older one. I remarked to Ian that there may have been an incident in the car park as the Spaniards are not good at parking. Anyway, the security man and several Lidl workers stepped in and soon got them out of the shop.
Meanwhile we'd paid and headed out with our shopping to find the old man putting his items in the boot of what looked like an abandoned car which had been left in the centre of the car park blocking all the disabled car parking spaces and access to half the car park! I think it was quite understandable for the younger fella to be a tad upset as the Lidl security man now had the job of getting him moved. We left them to it as the old man seemed not to being of any help in the slightest. It also was starting to drizzle do a quick cycle back was our best option.
Despite on and off drizzle and intermittent sunshine it's been quite pleasant today. Other than our bike ride we've kept in as Ian's had a bit of a cough so trying to get rid of it.
Hopefully more sunshine and lots of fresh air tomorrow 😊.
