27 July The Case if the Missing Melon

Detective hats on today!

A morning tackling the garage again - several bags full of odd bits and pieces, more unwanted electricals and bits of carpet are ready for the tip. And you can see more of the floor!

Then it was lunchtime with mum looking forward to a nice slice of melon. She had enough for 3 slices so one went in the fridge and the others were put on the table. I then prepared some salad while mum went into the dining room where I thought she was eating her melon. When I took the salad out her melon had gone so I assumed she'd eaten it and had removed the peel as she was out in the garden. So I was a bit surprised when she returned and asked where her melon was ....

After checking in the fridge and other places in case she'd put it down somewhere we came to the conclusion that one of the dogs had taken it! But I can't believe they'd eat the skin as well. I still reckon in a few days time that we'll find a slice of mouldy melon somewhere 😀.

The local community are ready to cheer on Ollie. Should be lovely weather tomorrow for the Fan Zone.

I've been to the village telephone box library to swap a few books. I am sure there will be a few more to add to it once I go through a cupboard full of books in the garage.

On my walk back I noticed that the work on the church roof has been completed. Nice to see it without all the scaffolding.

With a sunny day forecast tomorrow Mum and I are off to the van to empty the fridge and get it ready for friends staying soon. Ian is back next week so I also have to get his clothes as I'm sure he'd like a change to the uniform and sailing stuff he's been in for the past 6 weeks. Fingers crossed for a lovely day.
