After having a birthday breakfast for Freddie we all drove to Girona airport for me to catch a flight home. I think they wanted to make sure I got on the flight 😅.
Then after going through security, but before passport control, I spoke to Mum. All change! I no longer needed to head back as things had dramatically change. So I ended up phoning up Ian to come and collect me! Luckily they'd stopped at the nearby services for a coffee so by the time I'd been escorted back through security Rolo pulled up.
So we all ended up driving to explore Castellfollit de la Roca and then on to Beslau.
Castellfollit de la Roca is part of La Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park. The town is situated on a crag formed by the overlaying of two larva flows and is over 50 metres high and almost a kilometre long. It was formed by the overlaying of two lava flows.
Looking from one end.
Then the other!
We then hoped back in Rolo and headed about 5 miles down the road to Beslau, a pretty medieval town.
Ian and I visited here last year, but a first trip for Amy and Freddie.
