Today we went as far north on the coast as we could before getting to a border crossing point. Our travels took us to Calm Beach, north of Kapparis.
Once parked up in the shade we poodled along the coast path. I started to get a bit spooked by the gun emplacement/pill box and trenches as we neared the UN Buffer Zone.

This 112 mile Green Line extends from the east coast all the way across the west coast diving Cyprus into a southern Greek and a northern Turkish half. Established by the UN in 1964 following the Turkish invasion of Cyprus it is a demilitarized zone with strictly no entry.
Once the No Entry sign was big enough to read we reckoned it was time to turn around and head south. So we retraced our steps, past the car and kept going along the cliff path. A rugged terrain and not many sandy beaches but we actually found an isolated but open beach bar. We stopped off here for a frappe on the return trip after walking as far as Ayia Triada (we'd parked up here a few days ago, as it has a pretty fishing shelter, and had walked from here to Paralimni marina).

After our late morning walk we took our newly acquired shopping bag for a trip to Lidl.
Back to the apartment for a late lunch and then a trip down hill to the charity shop. I had nearly finished my book so was on the hunt for a few more bargains. I'm now all set up for my outside reading for a few days. Reading on a tablet in bright light is just about impossible so a cheap book fits the bill😁
