Last night I'd come across a few places to visit along the east coast so we decided to check them out.
First stop was Konnos Beach, arrived at by a windy road down, as our parking spot and start of a walk to find Cyclops Cave.
A rocky coast path walk and a bit of a detour when the sign posts weren't very helpful, but we found it in the end.

Inside Cyclops Cave
After eventually locating the cave we took the beach route back to the car and negotiated the windy road back to the main one.
With me navigating (not always the best thing but as Ian was driving there wasn't an alternative), we took what looked like the most direct route to the Cave Chapel.
If you have ever driven in Cyprus you'll know that not all roads are tarmaced. May are unsurfaced. So what started as as fairly decent road soon ended up in a cross country off road trip.
We had to abandon the car and take the uphill part by foot. The road wasn't suitable as it was rocky and eroded.
Agioi Saranta Cave Church
A bit basic inside
Luckily no red flags flying
Surprised we found our way. Signage a bit rubbish.
Back to the car we then drove to Protaras, parking on the sea front. The beaches here have been devastated by the recent storms.
Vrissiana beach will need some serious repairs and more sand
St Nicholas Church, Paralimni marina
After such a jam packed day and 15k steps it was great to have a sit down. Time to chill out 😀.
