We decided to head east along the coast after Ian managed to get out of a tricky parking spot. Someone had parked nearly blocking us in but after moving a few flower pots and driving on the kerb he successfully got us out.
Driving towards Cape Greco our first stop was to look at some sea caves, a popular stop for tourist boats. As we're out of season that's not an option, so we viewed them from the cliff tops.
Health and safety would have a field day at home. Huge danger signs and then they have viewing benches 😅

Back in the car we did a bit of off roading (I'd given Ian some duff instructions) and we ended up on some very rocky roads, probably more eroded since the recent deluges. It reminded me of our off road trip with the Tassells when we last visited Cyprus but over in the Paphos area looking for Aprodite's fountain. On that occasion, and this, we had to abandon the trip as the road was so bad. This time as we don't have a 4 wheel drive we abandoned our trip before getting up a steep hill.
Back on normal roads we successfully found our way to the end of Cape Greco for a walk and rock climb.  Then on our return to the main road we took another slight detour coming across a bridge naturally formed through the rock erosion.

Further along the road after visiting a cliff top church we followed the steps down to a cave. Well if you see steps you just have to see what's at the bottom 😁.
We managed to climb back out without incident and continued our tour along the coast. Protaras, the next biggest town along the coast from Ayia Napa, ended up being a bit of a ghost town. It's obviously a popular beach resort in the summer but out of season we could only find 2 coffee shops and 2 restaurants open. This was despite walking the length of the high street and beach front.
We coped though, popping into one of the 2 restaurants for lunch. Here we ended up chatting with a British retired couple who had moved out here 3 years ago. We were comparing notes on the weekend's rain as they had people canoeing down the high street!
With another 10,000 steps achieved (I've told Ian that's our daily target and we've managed it for the past 3 days) we headed home. This time via a Lidl and a second hand shop, where we bartered for a coffee cafetiere and a few other items (we can't source pods for the coffee machine and we're missing real coffee in the morning). You know we love a bargain and Ian seems to particularly enjoy bartering when we're away.
Tomorrow looks like another decent day so if we can get the car out we'll be off exploring. We'll angle the car so it's not easy to park behind us.
