First thing before we left Dun Laoghaire Motor Yacht Club (DMYC) was to fill up with water. Our last water fill was in Milford Haven nearly 3 weeks ago so we know we're getting low. Took quite a while to fill so that confirmed it.
We picked up the mooring we've been on for another hour whilst waiting for low tide when the tidal flow was going to be in our favour as we headed north. Then off on our sail to Skerries, north of Dublin.
We actually managed some sailing today despite the light winds in the wrong direction (as they always seem to be). Today we've seen loads of jellyfish which we'd not noticed before. I wonder if all the people leaping off the harbour wall at Skerries noticed them? 🤔.
The trip to Skerries was uneventful other than crossing the channel for big vessels going into Dublin. Just had to keep clear of ferries go in/out.
Moored in Skerries harbour on a sailing club mooring that the local club have kindly let us use. So we headed ashore in our tender and had a stroll around the town and got some supplies at the Super Valu (yes no 'e' - one of the chains of supermarkets in Ireland).
Spotted a solar bench in Skerries. Ian said he's seen one previously but this is my first one. You can charge your phone etc whilst sitting and enjoying the day. I've never seen any in the UK but it would be a brilliant idea in sunny countries.
Tomorrow we're continuing up north to Drogheda, by going up the River Boyne. Hopefully we'll get a good night's sleep as we're getting a very side to side motion in Anya - we'll be rocked to sleep 😴.
