Gatwick was a pretty smooth run through security taking only about 10 minutes. Then we spent our time waiting to go to our gate in the airport Weatherspoons to take advantage of refilling our coffee for free.
As before there was a delay in the plane arriving but at least the gate stayed the same. A full flight which went by quickly - about an hour's journey.
Back in the airport, after putting on a long sleeve top as the temperature had dropped from Gatwick, we headed for the number 16 bus to take us into the city. But you can't pay by card or with notes! Coins only 😬. So back to the nearby coffee shop where you can buy a 90 minute bus journey card for 2.60€ using your credit/debit card. Luckily we still managed to get the bus we originally tried to get on.
We got off at O'Connell Street, right by the Spire in the city centre, and walked about 10 feet to get on the 46A direct to Dun Laoghaire (it was the same service we got in Booterstown that stopped outside the hotel my sister is going to stay in). So we were very pleased with our bus ticket.
Now back on board Anya planning to sail north tomorrow. Depending on wind we might anchor near an island off Howth or head further north. A huge thank you to Dun Laoghaire Motor Yacht Club for letting us use a mooring.
