We were lucky Amy had the first graduation ceremony of the day so it was cooler and not many queues when we arrived. Getting gown/hat, photos taken and taking our time walking to Guildford cathedral for the ceremony.
It was a great day. Cool in the cathedral, baking hot in the marquee for graduation tea and stifling walking around. Getting back in the car was unbearable. Had to have the air conditioning running before it was cool enough to get in and the steering wheel was scorching hot.
Then we had lunch at The Anchor, Pyrford Lock where I and some of my readers celebrated my 30th birthday as Pirates on a narrow boats weekend. 27 years ago!!
It was so hot we decided on a cinema trip to sit in air-conditioning for 2 hours before returning to flake out for the evening. The heat has been absolutely draining. Glad we don't have it everyday. Rumbles of thunder tonight so hopefully it'll cool everything down.
