9 & 10 June Remembering Dad

Yesterday whizzed by as I headed over to West Malling for a dental checkup and then it was back to sort out the baby's room with Amy. The big cot was built on Sunday by Freddie and Ian and junior has made the move into her own room. She had a good first night and seems to have settled in well.

It also coincided with the start of weaning. Very smooth mashed potato as her first taste of food. She seemed to enjoy it and the parents were excited to have her start feeding. Although once the messy eating and dodgy nappies start they might not be so excited 🤣.

Today has been time to remember Dad as he would've been 95 today. We enjoyed a walk to do a spot of shopping and ended up in the M&S food hall for coffee. Seemed a good place to get some trifle and cream slices, both Dad's favourites, to go with our dinner tonight (although any dessert was pretty much a favourite for Dad 😄).

Amy spotted baby courgettes and baby aubergines. Will be just the right size for our junior family member in the future.

This afternoon Ian and I headed out to see the latest Mission Impossible film. An action packed movie that didn't feel like it was 170 minutes long. A bit of a spoiler - it has potential for another film so it might not be the last!

Going to the cinema also gives you a flavour of upcoming films. Looks like there's a new Jurassic Park film coming out in the beginning of July - I'll definitely be watching that one.

Our forecast down here is looking good this week so it'll be lovely to get some more walks in this week.
