7 May Day in St Andrews

With everything packed up we left our Airbnb just after 10am and took a short journey down the road to A Taste of Perthshire.

We'd been on the look out for Highland 'Coos' and here we got to see some up close. Definitely a favourite breed of ours.

Next stop was going down memory lane in St Andrews for some of us and exploring a new place for others.

Some took on the pier walk challenge.

It's very deceptive in this photo, but the top of the pier in this stretch is only about a metre wide with a steep, rocky drop on the sea side and a concrete drop on the other! Just enough for one person to walk along. From my recollection of the walk it's definitely a leg wobbler!

Then it gradually widens out and 2 people can comfortably walk side by side to the end.

Where Kate and William used to meet for a cuppa.

Near the university quadrangle there is a symbol in the pavement that is supposed to be unlucky if walked upon.

Some info about it.

Then it was on to Cromars for fish and chips for lunch and an opportunity to try out a battered Mars bar..

I gave the battered Mars a miss and had a gelato instead. White chocolate and raspberry today.

After our busy day exploring we'll certainly sleep well tonight.
