11 May Day for Jobs

Not sure what time Ian got up, but by the time I dragged myself out of bed for breakfast he'd already prepared the front gate for wood filler. It was probably the bright, early morning sunshine streaming through the windows this morning that woke him. But I'm not complaining.

First job - wood hardener before filling the holes.

Then removing the bolts before several coats of wood preserver/stain.

I was also put into action - mowing the lawn (a bit like outdoor hoovering and you know what I'm like with housework! 😄).

As we got most of the work completed by lunchtime it seemed a good time to take a break and walk down to the local pub for lunch. A huge plate of roast and all the trimmings. Definitely no room for a pud.

The village was basking in the sunshine today.

Unfortunately the good weather may have a slight hiccup tomorrow as there's a heavy rain warning. Risk of flooding! But as the warning covers just about the whole of the Midlands and southern part of the country we may miss it 🤞🏼.

It's still going to be warm though so no need for my thick woolly jumper just yet.
