18 April Good Friday

Our late arrivers made it to the van just after 2am. Ian had to return a minibus to Portsmouth from Stockport (about a 5 hour drive), then get a train from Portsmouth to Bristol Parkway (3 hours) just in time to be collected by Freddie who left Kent after work to rendezvous at the train station at 10pm!

It wasn't surprising then that we didn't get up much before 9.30am. We then had to spend quite a bit of time dismantling the travel cot and sofa bed to make space for us to sit at the table for breakfast.

This morning it rained and it didn't stop all day!! So the new area where the electric meter box used to be is a bit muddy and boggy. It also seems on closer inspection that any old soil has been used to fill in the dip, as it's a mixture of rubble and soil. So we're waiting for the ground maintenance manager to come and review it as they'll probably have problems mowing it when the grass grows, as the stones will definitely damage the blades.

Anyway today has been a visit to the swimming pool - a first for junior and all went well. A very happy baby in the pool in her mini wetsuit swimming costume. Definitely a two person job though for getting her out. I'd forgotten about the logistics of sorting out yourself and a baby after swimming. Plenty of time to practice as I reckon she's going to be a real water baby.

After swimming it was a chance to get on the 2p machines in the arcade. Limiting ourselves to 50p we managed to keep ourselves entertained for quite a while. No big wins though!

The rest of the day we've enjoyed a hot cross bun tea - a Good Friday tradition and a few good films while the rain continued to fall. Thankfully a better day forecast for tomorrow.
