Firstly it was using up milk and eggs. Pancakes for breakfast seemed like a good idea. Pancake Day every week over here!
Then, after a brisk walk along the prom we met up with our Wisconsin friends for a last meet up as they're also heading back to the US next week. It was a very interesting morning learning about life with bears coming on to their decking, guns and Trump! Despite a short shower it was warm enough to sit outside - probably helped by the waitress's quick thinking in putting the awning out.
Several hours and coffees later we eventually dragged ourselves away and took our last walk back along the prom. A new sandcastle sculpture has been taking shape over the last few days. Unfortunately the nasty jellyfish pong is still lingering so we hope to return to the normal clean, seaside aroma when we're back towards the end of May.
This afternoon it was a last chance to enjoy the warmth out on the balcony. As I was too lazy to get my hat I ended up tying/balancing my scarf on my head to provide shade. I don't think it'll be a look I'll be trying out in Maidstone 😀.
I'm trying to work out if it's saggy skin or general wrinkles. Not a good look! I think there will be some liberal applications of wrinkle cream to help tackle the issue.
Once the sun had lost it's warmth it was time to pack up the car. With one of the communal trollies laden down with bags and booze we negotiated the lift, pathways and bicycles and wheeled our way to the car. Having successfully squashed everything in the boot within about ten minutes we had a bit of time to spare before going for dinner at La Cassola. Always a great place to eat.
Anyway, we've now brought all the outdoor furniture in from the balcony, to prevent any losses in the event of strong winds before our return. After having lost a sunlounger over the side in a previous strong gust of wind we didn't want a repeat!
The alarm is set for 6am so we anticipate an early departure for a long day's drive up to Amily tomorrow.
