6th October Quietish Day

Just me for only one more day, as Ian flies back tomorrow. Might as well go to the market!

Managed to spot a rather nice bright blue cardigan on my meandering up and down past the market stalls. Tried it on but unfortunately the buttons wouldn't quite meet in the middle. One of the afflictions of having a large chest!! So that idea went out of the window.

But fate must've been on my side as there seemed to be a splurge of stalls with the similar colour in jumpers. Just so happens that there was one just in my size. I do like a bit of retail therapy 😊.

Normally after the market in Roses, walking back along the prom you see that all the illegal stall holders have got their 'designer' goods out or are setting up shop.

Not today! They were all on the beach.

This is why!

Every so often the police do a circuit either on foot or car. This creates much scrabbling as the sheets the stall holders use are quickly whipped up and thrown onto the beach behind. We reckon that this is some sort of loophole as they never seem to be pursued if on the beach.

So if you ever go along the prom and you buy a bag don't be surprised if it's half full of sand 😄.

After finishing 'Prey' by Michael Crichton (author of Jurassic Park) my next mission was creating a travel cot sheet.

With normal sheets being too massive and shops round here not catering for this size, Ian and I had found a couple of cute pillow cases on a previous market trip. Just a bit of unpicking and resewing and it was just perfect. Rather pleased with the result. Just have to see if it holds up when we have an 11 month old staying next week to try it out.

Anyway, tomorrow afternoon I'll be off to collect Ian from Girona airport. Then early on Tuesday morning it's his turn as he'll drive me to Perpignan for me to fly back to Mum for the rest of the week.
