19 October Nearly a Keytastrophe

The alarms were set for 6am this morning but Lucas beat us to it waking at 5.20am! I was on 'Nana' duty to calm him down and eventually got him off to sleep while everyone was getting breakfast and doing last minute packing.

We spotted snow on the mountains this morning. Must be a bit chilly in Andorra.

With Ian on Uber duty I waved them off at about 7am and thought I'd go back for a sleep. I was just nodding off when I had a phone call from Freddie. They'd left their car key in the fruit bowl! Luckily Amy had realised before Ian got on the motorway so it was a swift detour, a 40 minutes extra drive and a quick hand over of keys to enable them to get back on track.

Fortunately they arrived at Girona airport still with an hour and a half spare after a bit of an anxious drive. They then found that their flight was delayed by nearly an hour so loads of time in the end.

Meanwhile I managed to get all the washing done by getting in just as the launderette opened. Luckily I'd got my huge load in just before a French man got his 2 washers going as there are only 2 driers. I speedily loaded one tumble drier as soon as my washing finished as I didn't want him to use both. But at least he had the other one to use.

Once Ian returned we cycled over to Empuiabrava for the market.

Our journey takes us across the nature reserve.

After doing the market (we've started Christmas shopping🎄) we enjoyed the sunshine outside while we had a cuppa.

This afternoon we had a bit of a snooze after having had a really early start. A lovely snooze to catch up on our list sleep 😴.

Then before we knew it Paul sent a text to say they had boarded and were in their way. We then left an hour later and arrived to collect them just a few minutes after they came through arrivals.

Both Paul and Kate were pleased to arrive at 8pm and it was still 19C. Back for a bit of supper, a few glasses of Tinto and plans for the market and snorkeling tomorrow.
