28 August Scarecrow Corner

The rain has lingered over here near the Welsh border but at least it's been warm all day. We did eventually get some sunshine mid afternoon which now looks like will be staying for a few days.

Mum and I had a jaunt into All Stretton and Church Stretton today. Checking out Stretton Hall for Dad before stopping in Church Stretton for a real cappuccino.

I've never had a cappuccino with actual grated chocolate on the top before. Yum!

On our way back through Little Stretton I had to stop to see the village entries for the scarecrow competition.

A medal wearing scarecrow Olympic swimmer.

Cosy on the pub bench.

Even warring pirates!

There were loads more making my walk through the village an amusing one as the local creative juices had been put in action.

This afternoon Mum and Dad have been looking through some of their old slides from their round the world trip back in 1983. It's certainly been putting their memories to the test as they recalled their trip to Bali, Thailand, New Zealand, Australia and America.

They only managed to get through about a quarter of them so it'll keep them busy over the next few days.
