Our day started with a sunny breakfast and some reading - nearly finished my Stephen Leather's Spider Shepherd thriller. Then after tackling a bit of washing which dried really quickly in the hot conditions with just a hint of a breeze I sat outside. A very energetic 4 year old (she told me before asking me how old I was 😂!) was whizzing up and down past the van on her sit on scooter. Every couple of laps she'd stop for a chat and to let me know what was going on. I reckon it was probably the very red looking sweetie held in her sticky hand, packed with lots of E numbers, thatmaking her so active.
Anyway Ian and I took advantage of the good weather and walked up into New Quay. The beach was packed and a little cramped as it was high tide by the time we got up there.
An ideal sailing day with New Quay sailing club having several races going on in the bay while we were there. No dolphins spotted though.
We spotted in one of the Sunday papers that a recent incident at Aberaeron with the flood defences has made the nationals. At the beginning of the week the digger broke down and had to be abandoned. When we visited yesterday it had been recovered but a pretty expensive incident. Hope it doesn't delay the work there (supposedly 2 years without delays).
