24 July Dreary Old Day

A bit of an odd day weather-wise as the forecast was predicting overcast conditions, whereas we ended up with intermittent drizzle for most of the day.

This morning we started off with some major garage sorting. An old toaster, 2 telephones, 3 irons, 4 extension leads but unfortunately not 5 gold rings!! I feel Christmas approaching 😀. It's a real treasure trove as Mum and I uncovered lots of Gran and Grandad's stuff amongst the old mats, flower pots and garden paraphernalia. There are old storage tins and domestic items, most of which could  possibly be museum pieces of kitchen items from the last century. Stuff like mincers and sheep shearing clippers that I remember being used as a child.

So far only a fraction has been unearthed as we've already filled the black bin up ready for collection tomorrow. There are several boxes ready to go to the local tip and the recycling bins are starting to fill. Certainly keeping us busy.

Dad has been on good form today and I've been kept on my toes running in and out of the house as we've been trying to get some washing dry. I wasn't quick enough for some which is currently drying after having an unexpected rain rinse 😅.

My latest read. A new author for me. Detective story (suprise, surprise) but this one based in Amsterdam.

Tomorrow Mum and I have decided on an outing to Church Stretton. Fish and chips for lunch!
