8th December Christmas Entertainment

A busy travelling day! 

I enjoyed a very civilised breakfast with Jane and Lez, who having visited Australia were giving tips on places to go to on our fast approaching trip. Climbing Sydney Bridge is definitely on my list.

An hour's drive back to Kent in Rolo, a quick swap of cars, boot packed with presents and goodies and then off to Shropshire. Traffic conditions were not brilliant so we ended up taking an alternative route to our normal one to reduce the travel time to just under 5 hours - normally 4 hours! I suppose it was a Friday going round the M25 so unfortunately to be expected. When we compare it to driving through France from Spain our motorway network is a nightmare! Anyway at least it wasn't raining on our journey which made it a better drive. 

Once settled at our B&B in the village we headed over to Mum and Dad's for tea. Then we were out for an evening's Christmas entertainment in the village hall.

We were entertained by all the local talent. Everything from songs, Christmas tunes on a husband and wife trombone and clarinet combination to monologues, ditties, jokes and even a mini Jack and the Beanstalk pantomime. A very enjoyable evening with loads of mince pies as well.

I wonder what we'll be getting up to tomorrow 🤔.
