Ian ended up dropping Freddie off for work in Max before our breakfast, as Amy would be out in Winnie for the day, leaving Rolo for me. It all turned out ok with everyone getting to the right places at the right time.
I ended up driving through drizzle, spray, murk and darkness to Hove this afternoon - typical English December weather. It definitely confirmed my preference for the warmer climes. But with Jane's warm welcome, tea and delicious homemade mince pies it was worth driving through the grotty conditions.
We enjoyed a fabulous time catching up on family news and swapping tales of our adventures over food at a local Persian restaurant. I'd not tried out this sort of food before but I'd definitely try it again. A sort of Mediterranean/ Moroccan vibe to it.
A bit of a rubbish photo, but my roasted vegetable BBQ on a bed of split peas and aubergine was delicious.
We decided on more mince pies for pud back at Jane's before we watched Amy and Freddie's wedding video. Jane and Lez had been unable to make the day last year so they enjoyed watching the day. Lovely to see it again. I just can't believe that a year has already flown by.
I was then treated to some of Jane and Lez's Lockdown quiz videos - I now know where to come for any fancy dress outfits or a tartan table cloth to fashion into a kilt 😅.
Tomorrow morning it's a drive back to Kent, before packing up Max for the journey up to Mum and Dad's until next week. I just hope the weather improves.
