Luckily a private dentist I had used previously this year had an emergency service and I got a 9.45am appointment. Just enough time to get Peter sorted, the car packed with all their Christmas gifts and waved off on their way back to Scotland.
All geared up for tooth removal I was pleasantly surprised when the dentist discovered, as he went into remove it, that my tooth had split but instead of being straight down went straight for about half the length and then kinked off, avoiding the nerves. A hefty chunk had split off but he could repair it 🥳. He was surprised that a tooth without decay had split in such a way. I'm definitely increasing my dairy intake (and not just Cadbury's Dairy Milk) to try and keep my nashers a bit more calcium filled.
This afternoon I've been doing a bit of cooking in preparation for friends coming over tomorrow for New Year's Eve. Freddie and I tried to sort out the oven settings but unfortunately we didn't quite get it right. My pavlova has taken on a bit of a tinge as the grill came on. It might end up as Eton Mess rather than pavlova 😄. Just a lemon cheesecake and apple crumble to make in the morning before we head out on a London Mystery Walk.
Hopefully we have dryish weather. Poor Peter has returned to a yellow snow warning and an empty fridge. He might be celebrating the new year with baked beans 🎉🥂.
