This evening we opened our tin of Quality Street (other Christmas variety tubs are available 😅) and what a disappointment. Where have all the bright, jolly wrappers gone? No cellophane and foil only on a few chocolates.
I'm all for supporting recycling but how drab! Could they not have produced something a bit more colourful? I always found the smoothing of the foil to be very therapeutic. And then the foils and cellophane were used, when the children were younger, to decorate homemade Christmas cards. What do primary schools do nowadays?
Mum, who loves the creams, then had the challenge of identifying the strawberry ones. On the tub they're shown as being red and round. In reality they are red and the same shape as the pink fudges. The defining method to confirm the content is to give them a squash. Hard and it's a fudge, squashable and it's a cream 😄.
Tomorrow Mum and I are off Christmas shopping leaving the men at home - I don't think Ian would cope with trogging up and down Shrewsbury High Street checking out potential gifts 😅🎄.
