25th November Losing the Plot

A really windy night again. This time our really heavy wooden table was blown across the balcony so some serious gusts going on. If we had similar weather at home I'm sure there would be weather warnings. Although there very well could be, but as we don't tune into local news we're totally oblivious to it all! It did lead to quite a discussion about birds flying as you'd expect to see them going backwards in these winds. The seagulls seem quite unruffled gliding and seemingly staying still in flight.

Today we were planning on going to the Olive Oil festival but while I was catching up on the BBC headlines over breakfast I had a reminder pop up on my screen that it's tomorrow. We were both convinced it was today so we're losing the plot with days and dates 😅. So it looks like we'll be cycling there tomorrow, as it's a few miles further on from where we're returning the bikes to. However if the wind continues we'll be off in the car.

Without an olive oil festival to keep us busy this morning we went off on our regular constitutional up to Roses. This morning we were surprised to see 3 trees with broken branches on our beach side walk. The beach was also strewn with tree debris so it was certainly a good old blow last night.

Our afternoon has been spent contemplating packing but not much has taken place. I've also been making some more crochet squares and Ian has been hard at work in the kitchen. He's been concocting dinner using up all the veggies left in the fridge and our last few bits of pork. It smells delicious so I'm looking forward to dinner.

So far the wind seems to have reduced but every so often it howls around the building and rattles the shutters. We're hoping for a peaceful night to catch up on our sleep.
