13th October Shock to the System

Wash day in the Foreman household. Two huge bags carried round to our local launderette and stuffed in the washers for their 35 minutes cycle. Then a return visit for the tumble drier. Managed to go up and down our 3 flights of steps 3 times just lugging washing up and down - I'll be super fit!

Spotted on our walk to the launderette. Do you think this driver has attached the plastic bottle to the lamp post because of hitting it previously? 😄

We had a foggy start to the day so Ian pointed out that there was a bit of condensation on the table out in the balcony. So I had to dry it before I got everything out for our lunch outside. Imagine my shock when I say down to discover that the chairs were also wet. Like sitting in a puddle. Regular readers will know that when we used to use the dinghy to get ashore from Anya that my pet hate was getting a wet backside. Soggy knickers are definitely not my favourite so I'd wear waterproof trousers on our trips in the dinghy. Unfortunately Ian hadn't warned me about the wet chair situation and I wasn't wearing waterproofs or swimwear which wouldn't have been so bad. 😬. You can imagine how quickly I changed into dry shorts 😀.

Yesterday we had a little sparrow poking his beak in through the French window. Today while I was sitting outside I spotted him on an adventure.

He ended up perching under the table and having a little bob around before his departure.

He flew out to the balcony in front of where I was sitting before ending his visit.

I don't mind the little birds having a visit but find the sea gulls have been known previously to swoop in on unguarded food. So far this trip we've not lost any of our lunch to our feathered friends.

As tomorrow our guests arrive we'll sort out general housework stuff and have a stock up on wine and tinto (essentials 😅). We might even fit in a walk around Empuriabrava - well there is a market!
