Ian and Euan were working on the bathroom door so I thought I'd do a bit of a clean up on the steps. I had my hot soapy water in a little bowl with my scrubber but soon found myself in the way. Tools were required from the downstairs store room so there was much trudging up and downstairs so I had to keep moving.
No worries I thought. While they're upstairs I'll make a start on painting the ceiling in the hallway by the backdoor. Unfortunately I was then in the way as the backyard was being cleared for a trip to the tip.
Anyway I eventually managed to locate myself so that I wasn't in the way. The ceiling was eventually painted and gloss work completed on skirting boards and door frames. Additionally work on the final kitchen cupboard was finished, holes in the lounge ceiling from a leak patched up and painted and some serious work on knocking down the outside wall took place. A very productive day!
As we'd got to the stage that jobs were completed we decided to make our way back to Kent. And despite getting used to the airbed and all its foibles the thought of a real bed was quite appealing 😅.
So Rolo was packed and we motored south. A bit of a mammoth trip as there were several holdups due to vehicle fires and prangs and the service station we stopped at was heaving! We thought it might be as a result of being the last day of the school holidays or the decent weather.
Anyhow we were back with Amy and Freddie by 9pm leaving unpacking Rolo until the morning. If I'm feeling energetic I might get up in time to join my walking buddies for the weekly Monday walk 🤔.
