As I ran out of raspberries a few days ago I've been using frozen berries. Unfortunately guess who forgot to get done some out of the freezer to defrost overnight? Well, only me to blame so it was half an apple and a wrinkly peach to have with my yogurt this morning. This meant today's market mission was to find raspberries or strawberries.
We drove off in Rolo about 10ish, hitting peak busyiness for parking. Fortunately we're in Spain where the majority of car owners can't park - this means plenty of spots for Rolo. They generally park on the line which means that a normal car can't get in. However, if I jump out before Ian parks, because our drivers side is their passenger side and vice versa we can leave enough room for Ian to get out. Then he can park our passenger side close to their passenger side without restricting their driver's side - result!
A very empty Empuriabrava beach. If it was 22C on a Saturday morning anywhere in England it would be packed.
There were a few things that caught our eye today and I bought a jumper for €4 (ready for when it gets a bit cooler here). We headed up to the fruit and veg end of the market but there wasn't a raspberry or strawberry to be seen 😢. Definitely end of the raspberry and strawberry season. There were quite a few other types of fruit but nothing took our fancy today. I think it might be pancakes for breakfast tomorrow if I don't remember to defrost my berries.
On our return Ian got into a DIY mode and decided to complete the tiling in the kitchen. Probably because there's rugby on TV this evening. Luckily no breakages today.
Just the filling to go in tomorrow but that'll be after Roses market - otherwise I'll be going on my own 😅.
