After dropping off a bag of bits to the charity shop and a dash in Tesco to get towels, we drove off to Sevenoaks. Parking in Waitrose we managed to get to the opticians to see if Amy could get the broken arm of her reading glasses fixed (unfortunately not as she's had the glasses since 2017, so the style is no longer available. The lenses won't fit in another pair 😬). We also managed a visit to the haberdashery shop to pick up a knitting pattern and wool for Amy to knit a blanket for a friend's forthcoming baby arrival before grabbing a coffee. All packed into an hour!
Then back to Aylesford for lunch before I went off to catch up with my friend Pauline from work. This included a quick stop at Leybourne RSPCA to drop off the unwanted towels and sheets we sorted out yesterday on my way.
Always fun to catch up with Pauline and have a chuckle over life's adventures. I also came away with an unwanted curtain which hopefully over the weekend I can make into a cushion cover for the window seat - if Freddie finishes building it 😀.
Freddie came home with wood to create the side and top this evening so it might be completed over the weekend 🤔.
After our whizzing around we enjoyed a generally quiet evening. Although things got a bit exciting when Freddie went out to water his vegetable patch. We have a courgette!
I'm looking forward to more catching up tomorrow which Ian is up at 5.30am for a Fort attack! He's part of the fort defence while the cadets are on attack. At least it's been dry today after the heavy rain and soggy cadets on camp.
