14th July Varifocals Required

More rain overnight and non stop all morning so a delightful journey to Cardigan this morning for my optician appointment. I'd noticed over the last week or so that my distance vision is not really up to spec. With my last test nearly 2 years ago it was time for an optical MoT.

Walking down the high street proved to be a bit of a challenge in the wind and rain. My poor brolly got blown inside out twice before I packed it away. I wasn't the only one wrestling with a brolly as others were having the same problem.

My lovely optician advised me that unless I wanted 3 separate pairs of glasses that varifocals were the solution. I'd been advised at my last test that I was likely to need them so I suppose I have managed to put off the inevitable for 2 years 😀.

Back through more rain I dripped to the car and returned to the van for a spot of lunch and a creative afternoon. I've decided to check the completeness of the puzzles in the cupboard and managed to finish the European map.

All there!

I've also made a start on some Welsh cross stitch and a jumper.

Welcome!

This afternoon the sun has been out but I don't think we'll be seeing much of it this week.  Quite different to the weather over in Europe - we're a long way off the 48°C they're experiencing at the mo.

Anyway off for a few days with Mum and Dad tomorrow.
