21st May Motoring Through the Broads

An enjoyable day in warm, sunny conditions, as we started our holiday on the Broads.

With problems discovered with the grill (it wouldn't stay alight) and that we only had 1 key that looked our doors, our first task of the day was to return to the boatyard.

Unfortunately there wasn't a gas engineer available so he's going to have to locate us tomorrow. We did get the key sorted and topped up the water tank.

With Freddie at the helm we moored at the end of Dilham Staithe for a short walk and a geocache. On our way we spotted a deer on the bank and loads of swans and cygnets.

Windmill spotting today.

A quiet mooring at Dillham.

A walk round Dilham - where they used to grow the herb Dill

Then south down the River Ant and across Barton Broad before we stopped at Toad Hole Cottage Museum.

Outside Toad Hole Cottage

On walk number 2!

Back on board

Reeds been harvested

Moored at Cockshoot Broad for the night.

Off on the boardwalk.

Peter cooked dinner tonight and then we enjoyed board games and pampering.

Face packs for some 😄

A visit by a friendly heron.

Tomorrow we're heading west towards Wroxham.
