We arrived early at Richardson's boat yard, Stalham and luckily could take over our boat, Golden Gem IV straight away. So Ian and Freddie were left to have their training session on manoeuvring the boat while Amy and I headed off to nearby Tesco superstore to stock up for the next few days.
It needed a team effort passing everything along a line, to get everything unloaded from the car and on board. We were fairly shipshape by the time Peter and Scott joined us after their 8 hour journey from Scotland.
After we'd got the front door looked at (it wasn't closing) we were ready to go.
We decided to stay fairly local for our first night as we do have a fortnight to explore the Broads. Taking our time we pottered up to Sutton Staithe where we're now moored for the night.
Sutton Mill is the largest windmill in the county. Built in 1789 and 9 floors high it was used until 1940.
Following our walk we enjoyed a tow path barbecue. Then an evening playing games and reading, with the birds tweeting and singing as the day light went.
We're all looking forward to our lazing about on the River Any tomorrow.
