22nd April Off to Market

Firstly apologies that yesterday's blog didn't appear. I had written it but unfortunately did not press the button to publish it. Luckily Mum pointed it out to me in our evening phone call so you've got 2 to read!

Anyway Saturday is market day in nearby Empuriabrava, just a short car drive away. The market is based all along the sea front so it's a lovely walk along whilst browsing the goods on sale. 

At the end of the market we continued our walk down the outside canal

Empuriabrava was built like a mini Venice - a network of canals with houses having their own moorings. It's quite a maze with a main canal running both sides of the housing.

I had been on the lookout for a new leather belt and managed to find a suitable one. It even had a few extra holes punched in it for me by the market stall holder. Also a good price without the need to barter.

Towards the latter part of the morning the breeze started to pick up and brought a bit of a chill to it. So no sitting out reading today as I'd be well windswept 😀. Instead we went out for a lovely lunch in nearby La Cassola, which has had a bit of a makeover during the winter. New table decor and a change in crockery and cutlery.

This afternoon and evening has been spent digesting our lunch and finishing a Netflix series 'The Diplomat' that we enjoyed. We're now waiting for a second series.

Sunday is market day in Roses .... I wonder where we're going 🤔
