10th April A Tad Damp

Monday morning so it's walking day and it was raining. Undeterred Sarah and I agreed to meet as normal whereas Karen, most sensibly, stayed in 😅. Kitted out in waterproofs and carrying my new umbrella I walked to our normal meeting spot by the lakeside cafe. As I didn't see Sarah I kept walking in the direction Sarah would be coming in. I reached the main road and thought it was a bit odd not to see Sarah, as by that time it was about 5 minutes late and Sarah is always in time. So I retraced my steps and gave her a call - no answer. Now this was all a bit odd as I hadn't passed anybody other than a damp jogger and a happy cyclist. At this stage I thought there was an outside chance that she'd taken the inside path instead of the main part, which would be unusual, in which case she'd be walking towards the direction I was coming from!

The phone went and it was Sarah. It transpires that she'd nipped into the loo in the time that I'd arrived and kept walking and she in turn had walked in my direction😅. We had literally just missed each other, an extra long walk today!!

We eventually found each other

We managed 2 laps of the lake with Sarah splashing through the puddles in her bee patterned Wellingtons and me avoiding them. Luckily there was no downpours but a gentle drizzle. It even stopped a few times.

This afternoon we popped over to see Ian's Mum and were back home just as Amy and Freddie arrived from Wales. After a catch up on their adventures over their Easter weekend, Ian and I went out on a dinner date with my walking buddies plus hubbies.

Yes, I'm a bit rubbish taking selfie pictures. How do you manage to get everyone in the picture and push the button?

A fun evening and one to be repeated next time we're back in Kent.
