16th August Foremans Ashore

After breakfast in the River Dyfi on a mooring opposite Aberdyfi we were met by someone from the boatyard. They were in their RIB to help us navigate up the cut to the boatyard. A bit of a windy route but by closely following the buoys it was pretty straight forward.

We went straight into the lifting stroops and then lifted out with us still on board. A first for me - not something I enjoyed as I always worry that the boat will be dropped!

Being driven to our winter storage spot

First job, after checking that she was level, was to scrub off the green slime and growth from our time in the water. Not too tricky to remove but ended up with very blue hands.

                     Before cleaning

               Scouring pads in action

                    Lovely and clean

We've also had all the anchor chain out and remeasured and marked it as we noticed that what was marked wasn't in equal lengths. Now all marked in 5 metre segments so it'll be easier to see how much chain has been laid when we anchor next sailing season.

The list of jobs to do is slowly getting longer but we plan to get quite a few done before we go off to the van for a few weeks. We've got plenty of time to work through our list.
