With 2 Dad's in our household today we ended up having the day out, once gifts and cards had been opened.
As lunch was booked for 1pm in Maidstone we decided on the riverside route to walk there. With plenty of time to get there we enjoyed a lovely sunny walk the whole way.
This route takes us alongside quite a few house barges and boats.
This barge has been here for years so the mooring rates must be good.
After our lunch and walk back via Millennium Park (brought back memories of taking Amy and Peter there to go on the big silver slides and zip wire - they're still there!) we made our return walk. This time we were aware of sightings of a dolphin in the river down by Aylesford bridge. Despite a good lookout we didn't see it on our walk back in view of the river. But hopefully it managed to make it's way back towards Rochester before the tide dropped too far before it got stuck in the mud🤞🏼.
A lovely day and lots of steps completed - nearly 23k!!
