Yesterday morning I got my sewing machine out and shortened some curtains for Mum, that she recently bought at a local jumble sale. A bit of tweaking and they're now sorted and already in use.
Not a bad buy at about 50p a pair. Now you know where the bargain hunting comes from!
The creativity continued in the afternoon as I've made a start on a birthday card for someone's significant birthday. I've also progressed well with my current read.
This morning there's been a digger out the front of Mum's. There used to be an old brick wash house that collapsed a few months ago and they've finally come to give the area a bit of a tidy.
They've done a good job. Topsoil has been put down and it's going to have grass seed added. It'll make a nice grassy bank area - a vast improvement on the brick debris that was there previously.
While the digger was at work we took the dogs up the bridleway for a cool walk. We found it was noticeably quite hot out of the shade when we came to walking back down through the fields on the other side.
Right at the top of the hill there's a convenient fallen tree for a sit down after negotiating the slightly overgrown pathway. Glad I was in longer trousers to avoid the stinging nettles. Although had to change into shorts in the afternoon whilst sitting in the garden reading. I do enjoy my al fresco reading 😎.
Planning to head to the van in Wales tomorrow but currently not sure of timings as Mum's car, that is currently been serviced, requires extra work on it tomorrow. No worries though as I drive through Aberystwyth on my way and can easily pick up any necessary supplies on route.
