I think it's because it's so much warmer day and night in comparison to home. Normally we get acclimatised from March so we're here as it warms up. This year we went back at the end of March so our time here is like being plunged into the heat.
Today's entertainment from our balcony has been watching the work going on across the road. We watched as the scaffolding was gradually removed from beneath where this man was working. He didn't seem worried and we were trying to work out how he was going to get down. No ladder was used ....
He nonchalantly walked round the side and must've climbed in through a window as we didn't see him dangling from the ledge.
On our way out today the loquats are noticeably ripening. We reckon they're going to be good enough to give some a taste this week as we've not tried them before (well I don't think we have 🤔). I'll report back when we do.
Back after our walk the junior member of our party had a splash about. As I was the only one kitted out in beachwear I was the one who also ended up in the makeshift pool, which was a lovely temperature. I feel it was definitely better than the sea temperature - although we've still to try it out this holiday.
Another lovely day forecast tomorrow so maybe we'll make our way to the beach when it's not too hot.
