Our babysitting meant that Amy and Freddie enjoyed a whole day out to themselves playing golf, going to the cinema, a bit of shopping and a meal. They did say it was a bit odd being pram free!
Today junior has gone on their first journey abroad. Up at 6am to get on a 9am ferry to Calais. Then a full day's drive (with lots of stops en route) to our overnight accommodation.
We stayed in the same village on our way back in March. It's still as deserted as it was back then but about 10 degrees warmer.
This time the pizzeria was open. Well worth our wait as it was delicious - free pizza, pasta and salad tonight.
We're staying in a town house so Amy and baby are on the second floor (because that's where the cot is), we're on the first and a kitchen/diner/lounge on ground floor. Hopefully we'll all get a good night's sleep tonight. I always find I'm too excited about going away and worried about sleeping through the alarm so never get a decent sleep the night before getting the ferry. As long as the bed is comfy I should be ok. 😴
