15 October Better than Expected

We fully expected to wake up to rain all day today based on yesterday's forecast but it turned vastly better than anticipated.

As we can't all fit in the car (5 adults+ baby) Ian and I opted for our bikes as our mode of transport and we let Freddie loose in Max. His first experience of driving on the 'wrong' side!

In the Butterfly Farm 'Aunt' and 'Uncle' were on baby entertainment duty.

Freddie was taking this duty very seriously. Attracting quite a flock 😄.

Meanwhile we planned to meet them later at Castelleo d'Empuries for a cuppa. The picture on the wall seemed very apt as Ian wanted to pump up his front tyre. The bike equipment centre just in front of Ian had a lovely foot pump but when we got it out to use some clever clogs had removed a nut/bolt so it wouldn't work! Just as well we had a hand pump in our bag.

The public washing place had an art installation based on the theme of 'drought'. Lots of umbrellas used to portray the lack of rain in this area.

An umbrella sculpture of a tree that doesn't require water.

There was also a mini market in the square by the Basilica. We always manage to find them 😄.

After lunch we took a walk up the prom in an effort to get our youngest party member to sleep. He ended up nodding off for about 15 minutes so hopefully he'll sleep well tonight.

It was paella for dinner tonight. Making sure our guests have flavour of Spanish foods on their stay. Hopefully it'll be a beach day - got our bucket and spade set we found in Wales to use.
