A 10am collection by our friends who were going on a day out to Southend. So I got dropped at the mid stay car park for Stansted Airport on their way out for their trip, where I hopped on to the shuttle bus.
Security was for once pretty straightforward for me. I only ended up having my shoes scanned and my bags came through without any extra checking.
As I knew I was going to have a bit of a wait I headed to the Wetherspoons for an unlimited coffee. Just as I entered I picked up a message from other friends, who were getting the same flight, letting me know they were already there and to join them for a cuppa. This meant the time spent waiting for the gate to be announced quickly shot by. Before we'd finished our second cuppa it was time to go.
Ryanair for once were very efficient. We were all boarded and ready to go before our allotted time for departure and arrived 15 minutes early!!
There was the obligatory wait to get through customs and then it was across the road to the car park as I was given a lift back by the friends on the same flight. Back before 6pm it meant a bit of time to get ready and we headed out for dinner.
We took an evening stroll up the prom. You can tell that we're now out of season as the number of street sellers have dramatically reduced. It was still lovely and warm on our potter and good to walk off my pudding 😃.
