22 August Meet Up & Meal

A bit of a delay this morning to my travel plans as ScotRail had a delay. My 8.56 train was delayed due to faulty train so it arrived about 20 minutes late. We all piled on, made ourselves comfy for a half an hour journey only to be told that the delay meant it was terminating at the next stop!

We all got off and waited another 10 minutes for the next one to pull in. As we were all delayed over 30 minutes we were being encouraged by the public announcements to apply for a refund. I'll give it a go!

Luckily I always allow plenty of time for my travel so I had time to nip to the bus station to check out left luggage options for Ian on Saturday. He's off on an overnight coach after our day in Edinburgh so a rucksack will just get in the way.

Then off to today's show. This one was actually in a small theatre with tiered seating so my second row seat was perfect. The cast also acted it. Another amazing production and Lola was brilliant.

My 'old' nursing flatmate John met me at the theatre after the performance so we had a short walk to TGI Fridays for lunch. It was certainly going down memory lane as I haven't been to one since my nursing days. The Covent Garden branch was a favourite of our flat for a dinner when out on the town.

I managed to catch a few entertainers on my walk to the station. A juggler this time balanced up a ladder.

An evening of games (Guess Who?, Mastermind and some True or False) with Peter excelling at Mastermind - it's the coloured peg version so needs mental logic. I'm obviously lacking 😄.

And a game of Scrabble in which we managed to use all the letters!

Tomorrow it's a day out with Peter. I think we're off to the zoo so hopefully a dry day 😄.
