Then I heard him striking up a conversation with someone towards the back of the van. On his return it transpires that he could hear someone wandering about outside and had shot out to investigate.
It appears that a couple of workmen had been contracted to sort out the 'water feature' that we've had at the far end of our site. Having appeared sometime over the time the site was closed it's taken quite a few calls to get someone to do something about it. I was nearly investing in a couple of gnomes with fishing rods as I thought it was here to stay.
With rain on and off throughout the day we decided on a drive (as less likely to get wet) up to the top. Just to have a change of scenery but also read the papers and get a cuppa. A fair few people up there today - all with similar idea to get out of their vans I would think 😄.
By late morning after much tooing and froing, picking up supplies, digging and chopping stuff they'd got a man hole cover in place. So less chance of losing a small dog down it when the water runs now it's all covered over.
It was just as well that we drove as we had torrential rain from the time we arrived in the Owners Lounge until way into the evening.
Anyway, having put a curry in the slow cooker before we left, dinner was already on the way so no need to rush back. Just rice to cook before we were ready to eat.
Fingers crossed for a drier day tomorrow as it'll be good to go out on an adventure somewhere. 🚗
