16 July Hive of Activity

A dreary start to the day but a promise of sunshine later. That made the conservatory the ideal spot for today after a traumatic event - I had to wield the magic duster!! Unfortunately I was too efficient last time so Mum asked me to dust again much to my horror as a housework hating individual 😀.

With the sunshine streaming through the conservatory windows one minute and then the rain rattling on the conservatory roof the next, I've been making progress on a birthday card.

When it stayed sunny later in the afternoon I darted out to get a card in the post box and to check the village telephone box book exchange. One card posted and a book successfully exchanged. I've picked up a detective book by an author I've not read before so I look forward to seeing if they're worth looking for other titles on the library Libby ebook list.

Whilst the sun was out the village was a hive of activity. Roofers on the church, hedges being trimmed and the sound of wood sawing in the distance.

I managed to avoid a downpour from the ominous clouds that were moving in my direction. Back in time for buttered crumpets for tea. Birthday celebrations tomorrow 🥳.
