6th May Rain Stops Play - Nearly!

Another busy day showing Pauline and Tim around. Today we headed over the hills to Cadaques and Port Lligat.

Once parked we walked in the direction of Port Lligat stopping off to pop inside the church of Sant Baldari.

Walking down the hill towards Dali's house you can just spot the silver heads on the top of the house.

Dali's house in the background with a tree growing out of a boat in front. Pauline and Tim managed to get a ticket to visit the gardens as the house entry was fully booked.

Meanwhile Ian and I enjoyed an al fresco coffee.

A glorious morning.

Then we headed over the hill to the pretty town of Cadaques. Here we enjoyed our lunch with a sea view before exploring the town.

Up the hill we visited the church of Santa Maria with this amazing wooden gilded altar.

On our way back to the car we got ice creams where we had to use a machine to pay by cash. A new one on us but I assume it's to cut down handling cash.

We returned late afternoon for a sit down and cuppa before walking down to Roses for a round of mini golf.

Unfortunately the lovely weather that we had enjoyed all morning didn't last. By the 10th hole it had started to drizzle. Then it began to properly rain.

Trying to keep dry huddled under the trees we couldn't whizz through the holes as we had a large French family in front of us. So with rain dripping down our necks and a soggy score card we kept going and managed to complete the round.

Then we went to the 19th hole for a celebratory drink. A very close game with only 3 points separating us all with Ian sneaking ahead by 1 point after his dreadful start.

Eventually the skies cleared enough for us to take a chance and walk quickly back for dinner in. Then after wading through information leaflets and maps of Girona and L'Escala, we decided that with the rain still falling outside that we'd wait until the morning to decide on the itinerary for tomorrow.
