24 May On A Dali Trail

First task of the morning was to get to the council offices to pay the Catalan equivalent of the annual council tax. With the threat of rain (what's new 😄), we took the easy route and drove in Rolo.

We worked out that we could pay without having to make an appointment so quickly got it all done. Then it was back to collect Amy and Freddie as we were off to Figueres.

On the way to the car I went to get rid of our recycling. Look at a treasure I found there. This is recycling at its best! It's amazing what gets left there.

We followed a combination of a Dali and Historic trail around the town. This meant we got to see old buildings like the old theatre and modern art as we went around.

Time to try out some traditional Catalan pastries.

A tasty mixture of doughnut and pastry.

Outside St Pierre Church (trying to get everyone to look at the camera at the same time can be a challenge 😅).

Outside the Dali Museum.

Some interesting wiring.

An example of Dali's work.

Dali's birthday place. He lived here for 8 years before his family moved to another part of Figueres.

After our exploration of Figueres and lunch we had a relaxing afternoon back at the apartment. Amy and Freddie have packed up ready for their return tomorrow and I've finished my crochet squares - now to make something!

We tried out El Corral for dinner tonight. Luckily we saw the size of the pizzas when we arrived so just ordered two. We still had to bring some home!

Tomorrow is the last day here for Amy and Freddie so it's Empuriabrava market in the morning before going to tour around Girona. With an evening flight we'll have a packed day.
