25 May A Dry Girona

Amy and Freddie's last day so we managed to squeeze in quite a lot before they were dropped off at the airport.

On our way to the market at Empuriabrava we followed a large boat being towed down towards the marina. There was a man on the boat holding a wooden broom to lift up low hanging wires across the road. Always great to see how healthy and safety conscious the Spanish are. We were waiting for sparks to fly and the bloke to get fried!

After our perusal of the seafront market we went in search of a cold drink, as it was heating up and we were all feeling a bit frazzled. We went to the nearby airfield where the parachute centre is.

Always amazing to be able to watch the parachutists jump from the plane when it's so clear. And you can hear their chutes open even though they're just little specks in the sky.

I think Freddie fancies a jump 😃.

We went over to the wind tunnel to see people having a go at free falling. I think Freddie fancies that as well 😃.

Nexy stop was Girona where we found a market on our walk into the city from the car park. Unfortunately they were packing up but at least we know there's one there on a Saturday morning.

A sunny day makes all the difference. Our previous visits have been a bit damp.

Even the cathedral looked better in comparison to when we visited for the Flower Festival.

We had enough time to walk around the city walls.

It's a lovely walk along the walls with some great views of the city.

On our way back to the car we could hear drumming. We came across a group in a nearby park. Reminded me of what it sounds like at a carnival.

We dropped Amy and Freddie off for their flight home. Unfortunately they had an hour's delay but eventually got on their way.

Tomorrow we start packing and tidying as it's our last day here. Can't believe where the last 5 weeks have gone. Back in UK by Tuesday.
