21st April All Stocked Up

Yesterday on our way to the apartment we'd popped into the local Mercadona for breakfast stuff so we didn't have to rush out to get food. So after a cool shower (we needed the water heater on a bit longer), a leisurely breakfast and completion of a shopping list we took Rolo for a spin up to Lidl which is open on a Sunday. Most supermarkets in Spain being shut until Monday. Probably because it's a common market day.

This time we had a pretty good shop as we managed to find all our items and they'd actually got the check outs well staffed. Usually it's a bit of a waiting game to get through the tills.

Back at the apartment we used one of the communal shopping trolleys to unload Rolo and get it upstairs for unpacking. There was no way we'd get this lot up by just carrying it. Our future shops are going to be much smaller, now we're stocked up on the essentials.

Ian's made a start on some of the jobs to be done. We're changing the handles on the dresser as the current ones need an upgrade. They're a random selection of ceramic knobs but Ian is finding it difficult to be random - he likes some sort of matchiness so we'll have to see what it comes out like. Two have been done but the remaining 8 will have to wait until after a bit of touch up painting to the dresser.

Meanwhile I've made a start on cleaning the balcony. Having been away for about 5 months the seagulls like to make their mark so tomorrow may well be scrubbing day. I have to pace myself so I've got little jobs to do. No point rushing through the work! So today I got the brushing done before making a start on a David Baldacci book along with my cuppa.

We enjoyed lunch out on the balcony but needed a jumper as it's still a bit cool until the sun came round at about 2pm. Later on dinner was eaten inside as despite the sunshine it's been blowing up a bit. I didn't fancy lasagne ending up in my lap!

Nothing specifically planned for tomorrow so we'll see whether the wind continues.
