20th April Ice Warning Light

A glorious blue sky as we looked out this morning but looks can be very deceiving. Ian wore his shorts and I chickened out opting for jeans and my long sleeve - and thank goodness I did!!

When we ventured out after breakfast to pack our things into Rolo it was definitely cold. This was confirmed by the warning light coming on at 5C to indicate potential for icy conditions!!!

This was partly due to us being up the mountains with about 300 miles to get to the apartment. But with the miles gradually ticking over the temperature increased to the heady heights of 20C.

We continued our toll free journey only paying to go over the Milau bridge as it cuts off a circuitous route through the valley. Although we were a bit puzzled when the GPS indicated that only about 10 minutes was saved. So we might look at going back the valley route just to try it out.

It was interesting going through the town of Le Perthus on the border as one side of the road the shops are in France and cross the road to the others in Spain!

We arrived just after 5pm. Having unpacked the essentials we've left the rest until tomorrow. And shock, horror, I'm sacrificing a Roses market to go food shopping! But I've told myself there are plenty more weeks to check it out.

So we've sorted out all the furniture with some moved back out on the balcony. The bed is made, electrics working ok and the fridge on so drinks cooling. With it being sunny still we took a walk along the sea front before heading to La Cassola for dinner - a slightly different menu but just as tasty.

Now back in the apartment the wind is whistling a bit but hopefully it'll calm down for tomorrow. Looking forward to having a rest!
