19th April Tasting the Water

A buffet breakfast and then off on our travels further south.

Overcast conditions but by lunch time the sun was out and Rolo's roof was down.

Today's activity was visiting the source of Volvic water. High up in a range of mountains that we had seen from afar covered in snow.

We  took a tour which included a virtual look around the Volvic bottling centre which explained the process from start to its final distribution.

Then it was a tasting session. We've decided that the Europeans are all a bit stir crazy on drinking bottled water. We reckon a glass of tap water with some fruit or squash in it would give a similar taste!

Then it was off to our final destination tonight in Chatel-Guyon. A hotel tonight!

We enjoyed a walk exploring around the Parc Thermal before we found dinner.

Chatel-Guyon is another town built around spring water. Here you can drink it from the source.

Many of the buildings and huge hotels were built in the early 1900s and remain in the area. A quiet town out of season but I'm sure with the weekend starting tomorrow that it will soon get busy.

Final leg tomorrow so we should be in Roses by dinner time.
